DACA Problem Solved !!!

As many of you know by now the White House has decided not to renew the very controversial DACA Program allowing the children of illegal aliens to remain in the country without fear of deportation.

The President has sent it back where it belongs, CONGRESS, to come up with a permanent solution.

President Obama issued the executive order after Congress failed to come up with an Immigration Reform solution but unfortunately Obama overstepped his bounds by bypassing Congress and violated the Constitution putting this law in place.

We can all agree that we need real immigration reform and definitely need a permanent solution for these Dreamers but it must come from Congress not the President as per the Constitution ONLY CONGRESS HAS THE POWER TO MAKE LAW.

Here is a very reasonable solution that can properly solve the DACA issue once and for all.

First all of the Dreamers that served in the Military with honor can apply for their Green cards immediately. To those who are currently serving as soon as you are done serving you can apply. 2 yrs after you get your green card you must apply for citizenship.

Second to those adult dreamers you must wait 5 yrs and be continuously employed, read and write English, must also stay out of legal trouble. In other words don’t break the law. After the initial 5 yrs you can apply for your green card then 5yrs after that receiving your green card you must apply for citizenship.

For those dreamers under the age of 18 after you have graduated from high school you can apply for a green card. You must graduate school or you are not eligible for green card. You must also stay out of legal trouble and read and write English. 5 yrs after you get green card you must apply for citizenship.

If you fail to comply with any of the rules than deportation proceedings will begin immediately and you will be deported to your country of origin.

Also none of the Dreamers will be eligible for any benefits from the states and federal government. Such as free healthcare, food stamps, welfare or public housing for a period of 10 yrs after they are granted citizenship.

During the interim while you are waiting to go through the process you will be allowed to work. You will be granted a temporary work permit and a temporary drivers license.

If you get an automobile you must maintain proper insurance and registration or you are in violation of rules above of following the law. Minor traffic offenses such as parking tickets or speeding will be allowed as long as you pay them off and avoid. DUI AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFY YOU FROM PROGRAM. Minor accidents will be allowed as long as no one is injured. Reckless driving with injuries will disqualify you from program.

You will pay your taxes but will be ineligible for any tax refunds until you have secured a green card.

You will not be able to vote or run for any office until you become American citizens. No exceptions and this will apply on all local, state and federal levels.

So this is my reasonable solution for the Dreamers. Yes I am probably leaving something out but it is a work in process that Congress can build on. What do you think ?
